I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship(s) cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we will examine how all parts of your life affect your health and well-being.
We’ll define your values and create a vision of your ideal life. We’ll use these visions to set goals that motivate you closer to where you want to be. As your coach, I will not dictate any specific plan or diet for you, but we will explore why some things and foods make you feel better than others and how to use that feedback strategically. Together we’ll co-create your goals within reasonable time frames and actionable objectives so you know exactly what goals you’re working toward.
I teach my clients how to become aware of their body’s needs. I understand that life happens and your needs will change, and my job is to empower you to navigate those changes on your own. I help you to tap into your self-awareness to make the best decisions for yourself long-term in any given circumstance. I believe each person is their expert, not the latest talking head, magazine article, or fad diet book.
Here are some concepts we will explore while working together:
This should be our goal of how our plate should be at mealtime; it emphasizes the importance of proportions and portion size. It highlights the importance of organic produce, whole grains, high-quality proteins, fats, and water. To complete the concept, the plate is surrounded by lifestyle factors that create optimal health: relationships, career, physical activity, and spirituality. We'll talk about healthy foods that will be too easy to incorporate and help you discover what will be most beneficial for your unique body!
Bio-Individuality addresses that each person is different and has unique needs; for example, one person’s food is another person’s poison, which hints at why fad diets usually fail in the long run. Working on the principle of bio-individuality, I’ll support you in making positive changes based on your unique needs, lifestyle, preferences, and ancestral background.
It’s easy to overlook everything that contributes to our sense of nourishment and fulfillment. Not just the food we eat that affects our health but all the other factors in our daily lives that fill our souls. Healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity, and spiritual awareness are essential forms of nourishment. When these primary foods are balanced, what you eat becomes easier to evaluate. I will support you in achieving your goals, from eating the right foods for your body to living an inspired, fulfilling life.
Many nutrition experts give their clients a list of foods to avoid and foods to eat, which explains why so many people are turned off by nutrition. My approach is different – when eating and drinking nutrient-dense and satisfying foods, you will naturally have less room and desire for unhealthy foods. Simply put, you will crowd out the unhealthy food in your diet. This takes a little practice, but I will support you.
Talking about eating the rainbow is often used with kids; kids especially need a diversity of foods in their diets, but so do adults! Challenging yourself to eat a rainbow daily is a fun and visual way to include a varied, balanced diet that fuels your body with the nutrition to work correctly. Without good food, your body will more likely suffer from a disease, illness, and poor performance.
Cravings play a critical role in understanding what your body needs and shouldn’t be ignored. When you learn how to deconstruct your cravings and understand what they’re telling you, you will be able to reclaim a sense of balance and harmony.
