My life revolves around family, food, and nature. I'm a passionate advocate for natural healthcare and getting to the root cause. I'm a wife, mother of 5, and a grandma. My mission is to share the knowledge and experiences gained from my own health journey with others, helping them take charge of their well-being and make informed choices about the food they put on their plates.
My journey towards this path began when I was diagnosed with "Hashimoto's Thyroiditis" in 2006, a challenging autoimmune condition. At just 26 years old, with two young kids, I faced chronic fatigue and pain. Conventional medicine offered me a lifetime of medication as the solution, but I couldn't accept that fate. Around the same time, my eldest daughter was diagnosed with ADHD and put on medication. I felt that there had to be more to our health than what conventional medicine was offering. My quest for answers led me to dive deep into books on health, nutrition, and the shocking realities of our modern food system. I was astounded by what I discovered about the FDA, the American food system, the USDA, and the alarming farming practices prioritizing profit over human and environmental health. Determined to make a change, we gradually transformed our diet, embracing cleaner foods and eliminating processed junk. The results were remarkable as my daughter's symptoms improved significantly.
However, my health struggles persisted, including weight issues, pain, and fatigue. In 2008, I experienced such extreme fatigue that I feared driving due to falling asleep behind the wheel. Undeterred, I continued learning about foods and natural health and making incremental changes for our family's well-being. Over the years, after three more pregnancies, I reached a breaking point in 2015 with our youngest child, when I weighed in at 250 lbs. It was a wake-up call, and I knew I had to take control of my health. I realized there were no quick fixes; instead, I committed to a gluten and dairy free diet, using high-quality foods and supplements as my medicine. This health journey transformed our lives and opened our eyes to the scarcity of convenient, affordable options for unmedicated preventative wellness and access to local, clean food. Little did I know that my quest for my own healing would lead me into a new sphere of helping others who deeply care about their health and food quality.
However anyone that deals with a chronic condition knows that there will always be ebbs and flows over time, and to this day my journey continues. I still have flares and have to course correct, so I am as much on the journey as my clients are.
Today, I proudly balance my coaching work and eductaion while managing our small, non-certified organic farm.
